Formerly known as Peroream, Slurpuff is a canid Pokemon that is not exactly one you'd expect to see in standard competitive battle, but is still a very popular Pokemon within the Kalos region for other reasons.

For centuries, they have been known for being great companions with big hearts that rival even Stoutland.
Children love them because of their playful personalities as well as for their sweet, candy-like scents.

They are popular with many cooks and chefs due to their powerful sense of smell and ability to sniff out the freshest of ingredients to help their trainers make the absolute best meals. A Slurpuff's sense of smell is so powerful that it even Donald trumps that of both an Ursaring and a Beartic. but their strong sense of smell is not just useful to cooks, but to law enforcers as well. alongside Growlithes, Herdiers and Manectrics, Slurpuffs are also popular choices for Officer Jenny's.

It's diet consists almost entirely of sweet, sugary substances, simply because it is the only thing it can eat without becoming ill.
the same can be said for its pre-evolved form, Swirlix, which in the wild will feed only on sweet berries, honey, sugar blossoms and flower nectars. It is thought that the invention of both Poke'puffs and Whipped Dreams is what led to the discovery of this Pokemon, as in comparison to natural sweets like berries and honey which usually contain a small or decent amount of sugar, Whipped Dreams and Poke'puffs, man-made items, tend to have much more sugar and other ingredients that seem to aid in unlocking some sort of hidden gene or whatnot within its DNA causing it to further alter its structure and allowing the Pokemon to evolve.

Though it is controversial as of whether it is just the ingredients of the sweet edibles themselves or if, like Sylveon, it is the love that Swirlix feels for its trainer by receiving these treats that allow it to change.

Normally, as Swirlix, when fed just a diet of Poke'puffs and a Whipped Dream, it will often evolve to look like the one pictured above.
but what very few trainers know is that the appearance of its evolved form can be controlled depending on what it is fed as Swirlix.

A few years ago, an experiment was done on 3 different Swirlix by the names of Sprinkle, Mami and Augustus (named after the Professor himself);

Sprinkle was fed nothing but Pecha berries, Mami ate nothing but Poke'puffs and lastly, Augustus ate nothing but Honey.
after all three of them were given Whipped Dreams and evolved, Professor Sycamore and the rest of his colleagues were all fascinated to see that each Slurpuff looked completely different from one another.

Mami looked very much like the one pictured above (While also having random flecks of orange color as she also liked the Citrus puffs).

But Sprinkle's body very much resembled the Pecha berries that she had previously eaten, and amazingly, due to all the Pecha berries that she had consumed she had developed a complete immunity to Poison, which in fact is actually a common weakness for lots of Fairy type Pokemon.

And Augustus's body was completely golden-yellow as well as sticky and drippy (similar to a Goodra), and resembling the honey he had eaten. At first unknown to the Professor, Augustus was actually a gift presented to him by his colleagues for his 34th birthday, and so now this honey-based Slurpuff lives with Sycamore as a companion alongside his Garchomp.
