"Tis the season to be jolly. Today though was an odd day. The winter had few snow showers, most being just rain storms making the times be a bit more depressing then jolly. The jobs have been done and the presents wrapped. Some under the christmas tree, others hidden as a surprise to give to lucky people from friends or love interests. Tis December twenty-fourth, and so many people were out to find the last day presents for the ones they have missed, the buisness was rushing to keep up. Thankfully this was a small town so not many people were there, even with people from neiboring towns coming to search the stores. White, green, and red lights strewn up on almost every house that was around the wooded, country-like area. Pine trees the only ones to keep the green to them while the rest have shed their leaves in preparation for the winter. But alas, it has yet to snow. This is the year though, that a beautifull thing will happen to the soul of a young maiden. One Cabbit to be precise. But before we get to what has happened, we must tell the story of how it came to be. Lets get started then, on to the story!" A old man with a long white beard had said while sitting in his recliner with a cup of joe in his had. A nightstand beside him with a book on it. The room lighting up from a soft light, coming from an electrical heater. Though it simulated a fire. A red and green carpet in the shape of an oval on the floor.
The old man picked up the book as the room had a comfy country feel, tables of wood, the leather recliner, that soft light. "Ahem!" He cleared his throat giving a gentle smile before opening up the book." We start at the begining. It was a time much like this one. Poor weather, A soft chill in the air despite there being not a speckle of snow to be seen. The houses were decorated with the light of a festival. Seems there was going to be a sale in the shopping district. Stores lined up one next to the other, lights bright and merchants outside the brick-laid stores. Each one talking of different deals and trying to convince the passerbies to buy the merchantdice for their friends, partners, parents. Of course, it was chilly out so she had to dress for the occation. A light blue sweater to cover her body, a scarf with red stripes. Gloves that were black to match her fur. Her breath coming out like a white puff. Some jeans on her legs. She was a beaut to be sure. One eye green, the other purple. White long hair, A slender appearance. Her ears poking out of the cap she wore. But she was just out here for a stroll. She had completed her shopping with time to spare. So, she figured 'Why not? I got time for a walk.' But what she did not expect was running into a young girl Who's hair was green and long. This girl was rather hyper, or at least happy. But was having a tough time picking something out to give to her brother. so she saught out the help of a passerby. Thankfully there was one, the girl out for a stroll was encounterd by the young girl. The younger girl stared up at our main character with a wide smile and eyes like pools of water in the purest form."
The younger girl tilted her head slightly as her tail wagged. "Hey, can I get your help with something miss? I don't know what to get my brother. I know he needs a new drawing book, but he would also like a practice sword. I don't know which to get him..."
Our main character smiled and put her hands into her pockets to warm them."Well, If he needs something I would get that first ya know? Better for him that way."
The younger girl smiled and bowed her head slightly." But... I don't know which one of those to get...I'm not much of an artsy person myself. Oh! Names Mist by the way." Her ears were perked up as she looked to the older girl.
"Vixian." She smiled and slowly walked into the store followed by Mist."I'll help you pick one out okay?"
Mist smiled at the generous Coxxy and was almost hopping behind her." Thank you~"
They both walked into the store and went straight to the arts section, Passing by many people on the way. The different books for drawing were seperated on a small cart. About fifteen of them all for different drawings and painting purposes. Mist was staring at four that said they were for sketching.
"He's a sketcher?" Said Vixian
"Yeah, but what's the difference besides name?"Mist questioned.
Vixian smiled and picked one out that seemed thin but had at least fifty pages, it costed $14.96 judging by the price on the wrack and handed it to mist."This one's the best. It has a higher quality paper and more pages, the other one just use their name."
Mist smiled to her and nodded." Thank you! Uhm...would you like something for helping me?"
Vixian shook her head."Not at all. "
Mist thanked her one more time and went to go pay for the sketchpad. Naturally Vixian left the store rubbing her hands together in the gloves to try and warm them up before sticking them back into her pockets. The rest of the day went without a hitch. The walk was enjoyable though cold.
It was starting to get dark as she past by the giant tree in the center of town that was beautifully decorated with all kinds of ribbons and lights, even some small presents on the branches. The tree was massive, big enough to warrant the thought of how they managed to get everything up there, and at the tippy-top of the tree? A large star that lit up brighter then the rest of the tree. Coxxy thought that she should be on her way home, but just as she turned around she was greeted by a welcome sight.
It was her husband, he was standing there huffing out breath after breath And smiled up at her with that familiar happiness she adored. He rose and laughed softly before handing her a small package wrapped up. It couldn't be any bigger then an inch. Odd but adorable in it's own sense. Vixian took it happily and slowly opened it. It was a small jewelry box and as she opened it up, well, Her heart was lifted and a smile even brighter then the star was on her. It was a locket, small and silver. But the kicker was the picture of them on their wedding day that was inside.
"Like it vixian?"
" Like it? I love it. Thank you!" She looked back to her huusband only to be kissed by surprise under that brightly lit tree. Her husbands arms around her as the embrase began. She felt herself slowly slip into the warmth of his body, almost as if melting. Pressing their lips together as she closed her eyeys and put her arms around his neck. It seemd to carry on forever. But that was not the magic of the story. The real magic is what happened right when they broke the kiss, both smiling like dorks at eachother. As they stared at eachother, the first snowflake of the year fell right inbetween them. They both looked up but saw that there wasn't any clouds.
Vixian spoke up" Uh...hehe. That was....How?"
"I don't know, but I'm not complaining." Said her husband.
And that was the moment that would be stuck in their minds for a century at the least. That one moment with the snowflake was that much to them. Was it because she helped the girl before? Or perhaps from having that wonderfull moment with the one she loved? Who knows. But what we do know is that the moment will carry on with them to the day they die. That one christmas eve.
