Hey guys, last one for the month. Was a great run and will end it with a special one for the moderate smokers in the Gurkha fandom. Went with a medium blend this time around since it was my only day off for the week. XP
Let's get to it!
Gurkha Cellar Reserve 15 Year:
Wrapper: Criollo
Binder: Dominican Republic
Filler: Dominican Republic
Pre-Light/Construction:
Nice, sleek, and shiny is what comes to mind when I see the wrapper. The box however gives it a more relic look to it.
Like discovering an old and forgotten entrance to a treasure trove. The band gives it a off like a pretty penny piece to a gold stock. Everything written down and documented. The pig tail only makes it more interesting. Smooth and oily, it was begging to be smoked.
The Burn Part 1:
The was very vibrant and I like that in a stick. Pepper was medium to my surprise. Usually when a pepper note comes into play, it would punch me in the face. This however was more of a hearty handshake. Only a few other flavor players would join the party. Natural Tobacco was there like it just came at the perfect time for a get together. Sweet cedar was the last to join alongside. The body is surprisingly pleasant.
The Burn Part2:
At this point it's like your taking a little walk around your neighborhood. All of sudden Pepper had to head out of the group walk and has completely left from the profile. Surprising for the 2nd third. The sweet cedar and natural tobacco were still with it until a somewhat tangy orange or fruit came into the mix. Strange, but blended well with it. The cigar itself has set itself as it is as a medium body blend and showed no signs of increasing in strength at this point.
The Burn Final:
Surprisingly nothing has changed. It's like the time I spent walking with the flavor profiles ends on a note of us walking beyond the valley until fading to black to end the show.
Verdict:
For the price, it's a bit steep, but I found it more laid back in a stick and not too complicated. Sometimes keeping it simple is the way to go in order to stay relaxed these days and this was the stick to do it. I recommend having simple relaxing smoke with this.
Welp that's it for the month guys.
Next Month is Arturo Fuente Review Month!
See you then.
