Because he knows he can't sit in a 'Mech or indoors all day, Jake had taken up the rather athletically demanding hobby of snowboarding. While the human populace does it in heavy winter gear, Jake's fur lets him wear next-to summer apparel. Coincidentally, this winds up being his outfit in TSAT.
