" A youth entering her early adulthood, Puraha and her family live a simple life as farmers in the North Valley, trading whatever they grow with the neighbouring settlements for other essentials. While the family's stigma and disdain of the developing towns and villages keeps them living on the outskirts of civilization, Puraha has had a fascination with them since her first visit. Travelling to the nearest town whenever she was given time to do so, she hungered to see more, which led to a desire to explore the rest of the world. The townsfolk all recognised the brown furred lass from outside the fence, with a wide grin on her face with every visit, and would always welcome her with each visit.
While her brothers Yokel and Bumpkin would tease and playfully fight her for her obsession with the outside world, her parents were more harsh with their thoughts. They forbade her from speaking of her time at the town, and would give her more work to reduce whatever time she could have there, yet she still held her smile with pride.
With the start of her adulthood was nearing, she began to become bolder in her objections to her parents. She would run away from her chores if they gave her more than usual, she would sneak out at night to explore the nearby areas untouched by settlers, and her fights with her siblings became more serious each time. While she never intended to hurt anyone, her siblings were infuriating at times, and the only thing that'd stop them was a broken tooth, or three.
Her true journey begins, however, when an old friend reappears at the town. Puraha always looked up to him, from her earlier visits. A wandering mercenary, but a decent one, who held moral values over monetary. He knew of her family's disapproval, of her they treated her at times. On this visit, he offered to take her with him to see the world, to run away and live her dream. She was eager to accept. Waiting for her family to sleep, she snuck away, for the last time. As she looked up at the sky, the moon shone brightly over her, as if she were glancing up at the bright future ahead."
About time I submitted this. I've managed to make this one take forever to finish, took a month of being on and off to complete. While there are many things I could point out as having gone wrong, I am proud of this here art, and it has been fun to complete, which for me is the main point.
Here we have a character I've had in the works for a while now, one who I've neglected to draw at all until now. So, meet Puraha.
