Redwall is a big reason I'm a fur - it's an interest I have to this day and some of my earliest anthropomorphic art was Redwall related. Now that I'm doing more and more soft sculpture/plush work, it was only a matter of time before a Redwall piece appeared. She is not any particular character, just a cute red squirrel in a hand-embroidered linen shirt. She is made of several shades of felt, has needle felted features, plastic safety eyes, brass earrings, and a yarn/wire tail that's poseable! Someday I'd like to make a set of Redwall-universe creatures -- good and bad -- but it will always be a sadness to me that Brian Jacques (creator of the series) passed away in 2011 and will never be able to see them. I like to think he'd be pleased that a series of books he began writing several decades ago continues to inspire artists... Even grown up ones.
She is about 6" tall. If I ever get my act together, I'd like to be able to make enough plushes like this to be able to sell them at Anthrocon. Could not even begin to guess what I'd charge for them but they take a looooooong time to sew.
