Ever have a nice, quiet day suddenly go all to hell because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time? Riou can say that he has on more than one occasion. This time though, he gets some backup from a rather unlikely source.
Okay yeah, I finally got off my rear end and realized that if I'm gonna be having a character like Canyon, I had better actually do something with the guy that shows why he's so different. Not just in the way he fights, but also in his line of thinking about certain things... different means to the same end, as it were.
I may redo the ending at a later time, the old creative motor kinda sputtered after the big fight scene.

I was trying to show the difference in thinking the two have... at first Riou was just trying to hold him off and keep any bystanders from being hurt until help arrived. Canyon on the other hand decided that he just needed to be stopped, and it didn't matter who or what got torn up in the process.
Despite what folks might think, the campus security isn't some magical GTA-style police force that immediately pops up and stomps out any trouble the instant it starts. Having been on Ohio State's campus enough times to have dealt with their own security, I can quite accurately say that they're there as a deterrent more than anything. (I won't say they're the same as mall cops, because they do have actual authority. They're just not on the same level as professionally trained police.)
And aside from tha bench there wasn't a whole lot of damage actually, aside from a lot of burn marks to clean up and grass that'll need replacing... which should give the Jackknifers something productive to do while they serve out their suspension period.
