A young extraterrestrial enjoys the local color.
This took entirely too long. I was on a productive high after the last thing, and that wore off somewhere around the third background change for this. I had to come back after days of not looking at it. Further colorful things may or may not appear in light of that familiar experience. But for now: there's stuff! Woo!

You did pretty well, something I don't say a lot. The back ground is evocative without being too noticeable. The lighting is good. The colours are right, although in this case the smock or tunic needn't have been fully metallic. The only thing off, and its a small detail, is that the eyes should not have pupils. The reflective Iris is all there is.
I'd like to repost it if you don't mind.

Thanks abundantly, and go ahead. I can tweak a pupil-less version with a different tunic, if you'd rather post that.
The eyes have pupils because of the little dimple or reflection in the lineart. (And they irises are slightly larger because they looked unnervingly narrow when lightened from black to silver.) Details get lost in translation when translating from indicative boundaries to smoothly-filled inner areas. For example giving his nose a definitive shape took longer than removing the cross-hatching. I'm not talented, really - just patient and stubborn.
You might want to knock out a Kjola reference sheet. I had to make some guesses about height and fashion by trawling your gallery to the beginning and back. I still got the silver ears wrong, but with a white gradient, who can tell?

Tweaked the eye and the tunic: https://inkbunny.net/submissionview.....571&page=2
I use enough layers that some things are truly trivial to change. The iris was a separate layer. I just turned it off. As for the tunic... I had way too much fun playing with colors before finalizing the posted version. Another whack for a different look sounded fun.
On the other hand, if you'd objected to the picket fence, that would've been a right bitch to remove.

Possibly. Although I think actually I may have been momentarily confused because FA is different from DeviantArt. Normally I keep them well apart in my mind, but if I was distracted for any reason, I might have been trying to do in FA what I should have done in DA. Oh well ... it's all sorted out now.
A tip to consider for another time. You see how a bit of the tree trunk you've created appears beneath the boy's left elbow? Given the dark colours it tends to blend with his body, making him look thicker than he is. Had I noticed this while colouring, I would likely have done away with that bit of the trunk that's visible, leaving the boy a trimmer looking figure.
