Thought I should put together a little art progression piece this time of the year. Considering all that has happened to me through all these years, I am still very much surprised I am still drawing more-or-less continuously since I've started 10 years ago. I'll admit I came fairly close to stopping altogether a few times, but somehow I just kept going.
Lesson to be learned from this? If you want to be good at anything, it'll take a while, it won't always be easy, and you'll need to put in the work. Applies to more than just art.
Happy New Year everyone. May 2016 be a good one.

Happy New Year, Dolorcin! Ever since I discovered your work a few years ago, you've been one of my all-time favorite artists. It's amazing to be able to see where you started and how far you've come in the time that you've been doing this.
Thank you for sticking to it. And thank you for bringing a bit more beauty to the world. :)

At the end of of 2010, I experimented with a new shading technique that has multiple lighting angles, and by then I'm starting to have a decent idea of how my brushes work (Entracing Gullet, VORE). Throughout 2011, I practiced this new style and further refined it. In parallel to this, I also refined the way I do water backgrounds by tweaking the brush settings, colour settings and layer effects. 2011 was also the year I completely phased out my inked lines and used a semi-transparent, looser style with lines. 2012 is basically the result of all the experimentation and refinement from 2011. I haven't had a mjaor change in how I shade or do my lines since then. Now my main focus is maximising efficiency/output without sacrificing too much quality (2015 was arguably my most productive year in terms of number of submissions! 80, about 30% of my gallery).
I swear I feel like I'm falling behind everyone I watch, including some of my friends. I want to get better but I feel like a terrible artist everyday...can't even get myself to draw something without feeling it would be a failure from the very start and I'm too afraid to even use any of the art programs online...Sorry...You are a great artist and i've been watching you for awhile now (since 2011 I think), I just wish I was a better artist and feel proud of myself for once...
