I used to love these guys, until one of them pinched me in my youth. For like 45 fricken' seconds! It hurt worse than my caterpillar sting. u.u'

Seems like a waste of water, time, energy, and everything else involved. Of course, where I live people go hunting for squirrels with rifles, so what do I know?
However, if you do plan on eating them, I suggest you raise them gradually to a suitable size. You'll know they're ready when they choose to go into the largest shell in their terrarium- the one with the nutritional facts on the back.
