Happy New Year everyone~! 2015 has been a rollercoaster for me and a lot of other people close to me. It's had a lot of ups and downs and these past few weeks have been rough on me. I'm looking towards 2016 to be more of a positive experience. I'm gonna work hard~! <3

Overall this year has a lot of contrast and darker pieces. I've gotten better with color theory as well as backgrounds or at least I think so anyways. I've produced a lot of concept stuff this year in general~ <3

I actually have a lot of art goals for 2016:

Get faster and produce more! Simplify. <3 One of my favourite artists has the same mindset as me: with the kind of work I want to produce, quantity is so more important to than quality. You learn more when you produce more than if you sit there and work on one piece for days looking for "perfection". (Perfection isn't something to strive for.) That old artist tale about pottery has been extremely inspiring to me over these past years and I carry it with me to this day.

Start dedicating a sketchbook to gesture pen only work and pencils with no erasers. I used to draw in pen a lot when I was younger and I love the feel of being loose and fluid because you can't nitpick and erase. I want to do more pen work this year~ More gesture work in general. <3

Start an artist journal. <3 I've had a beautiful artist journal I bought back in the summer and I want to break this baby in. Now's the perfect time! Any and everything goes!

Start my comics and keep working on my stories and developing the worlds and characters enveloped in them. <3 I did so well with Nanowrimo, again, after not worry about quality and moreso about the concepts and getting it out, I wanna continue to do that when I draw and write my comics and stories,

Start posting and upload info of my original species. I've let fear hold me back from that. I love my species and ideas so much - I really want to share them and possibly make adopts as well.

Speaking of fear, I need to learn to let my anxiety go when it comes to uploading my darker and more emotional art. I always fear my dark and emotional art is a big turn off for people because I know most prefer my cute and sweet art. I really enjoy drawing both cute and sweet art and also dark and spooky art and I shouldn't feel bad when I jump back and forth. Learn to find that balance and not care what people think.

Experiment more and try different styles and techniques. Been doing that a lot this year so lets keep doing it. I want to try to learn to do pixels in the future! Also more animations yesssss~
