You can view it like that. But focusing on bad things only makes you sad. You'll always be able to find bad in the world, no matter how the world is, as long as it is diverse. Only a complete nothingness has no bad in it, because it also lacks any good to compare to.
Also remember that good and bad depend not only on where you draw the line, but in which direction, too. Different people, societies, and cultures will draw different lines. Possibilities are endless.
I think it's better to focus on things around you and try to "leave the world a bit better than when you got here."
