In English, we have to be careful with participial phrases, so that they match the appropriate nouns. For that reason, Anubis would most likely say, "I was going to visit my fiancee, the gracious Sekhmet. I was licking an ice cream cone while bringing a gift I had promised her."

Also, it was Seth "with whom Anubis had exchanged rough words. And we usually say that someone "took offense" -- another strange idiom. ;)

Also, I'm not sure that I understand that final clause: "until I wouldn't have taken back what I had lost." Was it meant to be something like, "She banished me from my dimension, and so I couldn't retrieve what I had lost"?

Yep, exactly. An Australian friend pointed this to me too, I think I should edit it, since it really seems is not understandable...
