Okay, this one is tough. English is a WEIRD language. :)
Anubis would say, "I don't like these clothes." Those things are over there, but these things are here.
Also, "Look, even if it is for my sake, I'll tell you straight that I don't like the idea of stealing anything from a museum." In this context, stealing is a gerund, a word that functions both as a verb and as a noun. We have too many of these in English. ;)
In English, we also use the term mortality rate: "The ticket is a bit expensive, and the mortality rate, very high...."
And, "Even if you are a god, it's better if you stay near me. You're not authorized personnel, you know."
And you know, as well, that when I consider all the beautiful and friendly women in Purgatory, Italy, I can't see why Anubis would want to go home. I would stay. Oh, yes. I'd stay for a looooooooooong time. :)
I like this comic a lot, and I'm looking forward to see what happens. Thank you for posting it!

it really seems so. the quickest way of getting rid of me/making me lose interest in any individual are lines like, "Books are stupid" or "books are boring" from someone who never has learned to read fluently without actually being legasthenic. but here in germany it's the same actually... nobody minds occasional mistypings or grammar errors in forum posts, but some people get really creative in their language rape. :P
Something else I've noticed: many of the young people on FA quote song lyrics, often at great length, and it seems obvious that these words have meaning for them; but hardly anyone quotes poetry.
Given that poetry is much more concentrated and much less time-consuming than novels or plays or long essays, I would have thought that poetry would still appeal to young people... but I don't know if that applies anymore.
Something beyond value is being lost: our history, our heritage. And when it's gone... what happens then?
