Medium: wax crayons on canvas
Size: 8" x 10"
~ 30 minutes
Fun with canvas, off-brand crayons, and fire.
I made this piece for a nonprofit center where I worked as a temp for a little while. The shared hallways were very bare, so building management bought paints and canvases for tenants to decorate and donate to the walls. I didn't have the time or energy to paint something with acrylics, but I had had this idea rattling around in my head for a little while, so I went ahead and made this for them. Considering I was working at an early childhood-focused nonprofit at the time, it seemed to fit!
The crayons were an off-brand set I've had since middle school... "Raymond Geddes" I think they were called. I still have tons more that I want to melt into different projects someday.
