You do such adorable cartoon-style work, Artie. When you do this sort of work towards genuine cartoon characters it becomes truly an effort for the ages.
The look on Tails' face is priceless and tells the story very well. You can hear him going, "Wait... I can fix this..." while Sonic feels his true desire to run-Run-RUN kicking in. Fortunately, he likely can't crawl as fast as Tails has learned to run with the aid of his propeller tails.
There's got to be a part where he has to keep trying to keep Sonic out-of-sight of others while in-sight for him as he figures out what he did to goof up his invention. Hopefully he doesn't accidentally activate it on himself.

Hmm. Perhaps that Stork Bot is out-and-about? Or Dr. Eggman altered Tails' invention to meet his own ends?
I love how you have such a creative mind that goes so far beyond the image. It's why, if I had the time, I'd write more stories based on your artwork. Oh, how I had tons of fun writing the two I had done previously based on Daring Do and then Spike with Baby Twilight and Baby Starlight Glimmer.
