I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. I got a bit more serious about art in around 2011, started digital artwork in 2012/2013. Since around 2014 I've been drawing almost every day, usually drawing for the majority of my waking hours.
It's kinda hard to say how long since I've been doing it my whole life, aha ^^"
But here's an example of my digital art when I first began it (2013): http://delilittle.deviantart.com/ar.....adge-368946039
And an example of my traditional art from around the same time (late 2012): http://delilittle.deviantart.com/ar.....SCAN-345979450
So I guess I went from "doodling in my spare time," to "trying to become an artist," in around 2010/2011 - so 5-6 years I suppose?
I don't think the time is so much a significant factor compared to how the time is spent. I think because I got a lot of help (animation college, artist friends, tutorials, life drawing etc) it helped me to learn really fast. But if I had have tried to do it on my own I would have gotten practically nowhere in that time haha.
One day I'd love to redraw that african wild dog priestess.~
