No problem! It's honestly something I would need to have for WiiU if its physical. My WiiU doesn't like my external drive and I don't have a bunch of cash to experiment with others. ><

I'll just play 1-3 for now...

I understand! My boyfriend says the best kind of external to get is one with its own power supply (so there's the least risk if you ever losing your save files!), and that's kind of annoying, since you'd need to then take the HD and its power cord with you if you travel.

The average person won't need a HD for their Wii U, since MOST games are small enough! Fatal Frame is a big fatso, though. xD

1-3 are great! I'm playing 3 right now, and after that, I'll have beaten all the ones that came out here. x3

Haha, really? I thought it was great! (I bought it and beat it, but my Wii U's HD is full and I had to delete all my other games!)
I've played all of them now (except 4, I'm in the U.S.) and I thought 5 was in most ways the best one. x3 I can understand people not liking using the GamePad though (I loved it!)

I don't hate it owo; The Gamepad idea was what was getting me excited for a new Fatal Frame on the Wii U since they announced it. I just felt it fell far short of what it used to be. It just isn't scary anymore and the ghosts lack anything that makes them unique. Just my opinion lol

Oh if that's why then I get you, but I notice this series doesn't really know what "unique" means. I've played them all now, and SO MANY "creepy" elements are re-used to the point that it's like...guys seriously you did this the last 3 times try something else.

i.e. creepy dolls
i.e. self-playing koto
i.e. children playing creepy games
i.e. angry shrine maidens
i.e. ghosts that fall from the ceiling

I can't think of anymore, but I know there are plenty. xD Maybe you can come up with more for the list...

This series is one of the most "the same every time" of any game I have ever played. But what DOES change and get better, in my opinion, is the game play. THAT has certainly evolved into something wonderful, I have to say! It used to be clunky and aggravating, and it's becoming smoother and more enjoyable. <3

I'm not in this series for the thrills, though, I kind of just like the camera mechanic, as sad as that sounds. Horror isn't really my thing! So that might be why I like 5 the best of them all, and I don't mind the repetitive themes as much as some might. x3

Well there are tropes and then there is a lack of variety. The originals weren't unique in the sense that enemies where creative and new in theme but had a wider variety of approaches in how they had to be dealt with. I wasn't a huge fan of the stories or the very awkward dialog...but the game play itself kept me on edge with each room. I wasn't wondering when id be met with a weak jump scare for picking up a random item with a slow cut scene. Then proceeding through an area with the same few ghosts one after the other to get to the next area with the same ghosts again. Though i will say the original games lacked a lot of things that needed huge improvement. I personally love horror games and have been playing them from a very young age. Sadly these days most horror games have to be smaller titles from smaller studios. Especially with P.T now being dead. I am not a fan of very obvious YouTube bait like Slender or most jump scare games. I value certain mechanics and elements that can help fluff up real dread presented in a well developed atmosphere. Anyway I just found this title lacking but I am happy you enjoy it. I just hope if they make another game with the WiiU controller it can actually succeed with putting a bit more dread and joy into it.

And I guess I hope the next one (if there even is one and it ends up not being Japan-only at this rate, lol) is more to your liking, then!

I guess I can't really critique it on the level you can, since the only other "horror" game I've ever played is Resident Evil, and somehow I never saw that as "horror"...maybe it isn't? I don't know much about that genre.

Well, and also an old PC game called Alone in the Dark, but those are probably awful to anyone who doesn't feel nostalgic about them. xD

Oh! And I tried Five Nights at Freddy's, but I never understood how it was supposed to work, and I don't play games on my PC when I can avoid it, so that only barely counts (but I did like the cutesy animal characters in it!)

Resident Evil had its moments especially the Directors Cut. Alone in the Dark was an awful mess that had a lot of potential...FNAF is weirdly popular but I guess its because it was obvious YouTube bait but I cannot say I haven't been sucked into the ridiculous theories about it even if its not very good...lol

I guess to break it down good horror games (Some not so scary):Silent Hill titles, I have no mouth and I must Scream, Dead Space (Sequels weren't very scary but very fun.), System Shock 1+2, Eternal Darkness, The SCP games which are YouTube bait but the SCP foundation has had some very interesting horror, Sweet Home, Corpse Party was interesting, etc.

Its difficult for me to find many things scary because I want games to have much more psychological horror. Running from a monster,jump scares,etc. does not do it for me. Ah well lol.

Ahhh, okay, I see where we're different then! I'm literally looking no deeper into Fatal Frame than the fact that I love using the camera to fight ghosts, so it's fun to me in the way...I don't know, Super Mario is fun to people. xD I'm not looking for anything deep or philosophical this time around (although I do enjoy that kind of thing now and then!)

Although I was introduced to the series at game 2 on the PS2, I didn't truly enjoy it until Spirit Camera for 3DS, and for no other reason than fighting those ghosts was so fun for me, and then I decided to go back and play all the games I missed in the series. So, since I'm only looking to fight the ghosts...well, I guess my expectations, and what makes me feel happy, are lower than yours might be, so it's kind of like how a cat can enjoy a string.

Although I will say I do like the characters in Fatal Frame, I love them very much.

People say I will like Silent Hill, but I'm not so sure, since I actually don't particularly like being scared. xD But! It's something I am on the hunt for, as a collector, so one day, I'll see how I feel about it!

Fatal Frame was the first game to ever cause me nightmares, shit yes I want to traumatize other kids like that!

Sadism aside, it's shit-tier conduct that they'd offer a 16GB digital download for a console that doesn't typically have 16GB of storage space and doesn't allow you to upgrade, either :') So let's hope this actually works for a change.

Yeah, I know it's cheaper for them to release it this way, but I know for a fact they're losing sales, just from the replies I'm getting here!!! I nuked my HD to fit it, and I'm glad I did, because the game is wonderful, but, not only do I want a disc for my collection, I also now can't fit much else on my console, so I'm hoping they listen and release this on disc, so I can delete it from my HD to make room for all the things I deleted! xD
