The progress you are making on this is starting to become really impressive.
I know how much work goes into the finer details. Well done.
Magnets for the sidearm can work well if you use Neodymium magnets, however I would recommend anchoring the magnets really well, as they will otherwise tear their way free of the foam. The holes this makes are impractical.
Ductape reinforcement on both sides can help though.
