Just having the brain won't be enough for the cyborg process, the spinal column is crucial because it already contains precious nerve fibers that can be used for peripheral and internal control of new cybernetic/synthetic custom vessels. The Show must go on!

Well bummer… I'm still in a vegetative state until the MedTower v2® retrieves my CNS and puts it into a CNS-Unit for further installation, I imagine it will be like that scene in RoboCop2, not precisely a fish tank contraption but still… I have other more sensible inspired solution.
Also… it might feel, for a brief instant, like dying. You know, the whole not seeing not hearing not smelling not feeling anything affair, just your hard drug-impaired thoughts in the meantime idk :[
