This page makes me squirm. those bottom two panels make me happy hehehe..being taken by surprise like that isn't fair. I can't remember. Have they gone over safe words and what Star is and isn't okay with? I'm just worrying a little that this isn't coming across as a safe and healthy relationship. This is starting to be like 50 Shades of Grey where people like it because it's exciting, but it's showing some very big red flags that people IRL should not be okay with. She said she's okay being punished, but that's not the same as being okay with spanking. For all anyone there knows, she actually meant like corner time, and this would be a huge violation of her consent.
Now we, as readers, don't need a bunch of pages of conversations about consent. Honestly, all we'd probably need is a throwaway panel with narration that says they spent 'x' amount of time talking about boundaries or something. But until they do that, this is absolutely the poster child for what not to do when you meet someone new. At the very, very minimum you need a safe word. You've crafted a scenario that Star would like, but if she didn't, how would she stop it? Pretty sure saying "no" wouldn't work, but what would? Does Teca know that it means stop?

*nods lots* yep I agree. But lets just put this out there that this isnt a perfect comic and that the characters aren't perfect either and mistakes are made by the characters...in much the same way I made mistakes in my real life exploration of this whole thing.

Perfect. That's all that matters, imo. It's not an issue so long as it gets addressed at some point. If it's written with that intent in mind, that's good storytelling. I think a lot of us are just used to stories being written that ignore things like consent and just go straight to like being forced to act like a baby, but it all ends up working in the end, so no one in the story really minds. Your story seems to be a more realistic take on these kinds of relationships, so the lack of communication has been kind of an elephant in the room. I'm glad to hear it is going to get addressed eventually.

ive seen too many sub/dom sort of relationships go wrong bc people dont talk about stuff like safeword sand think the doms should have all the control, when really its the sub who has control most of the time (with limits, how far things can go you know?)

I am glad that I found this comic and account. This is a nice comic and I've been enjoying it the whole time.
