We didn't collaborate on this, but I do have a bit of a story for this pic.
~^~
Monhare watched from up on the slope. He could see an ambush waiting for him and his troops; he was glad he had them wait before the valley's entrance while he scouted ahead. He waited for another few seconds before stepping out from behind the bush he was using for cover and pausing.
No one had seen him yet. He stepped one foot onto the slope and, lifting his other leg up, started sliding down. The noise alerted the rear-most enemy troops, who turned their guns towards him. Before they could fire off a shot, he muttered, "Shadow Bolt," and a dark bolt of energy flew from his raised hand right through the two troops. Their death was silent, but not unnoticed.
He continued firing off his magic as he slid down, dodging the enemy's bullets.. It was enough for him to get too close for the enemy to use their guns accurately. They switched to swords, and he reached into his pocket and pulled out what appeared to be a set of keys on a retractable keyring. "This is going to be fun," Monhare and the enemy troop's leader said simultaneously.
~^~
Quick-second thing, a bit of show-off to his magic and an introduction to his strange melee weapon he chooses to use. Those of you who have read Monhare's backstory, also in my gallery, may wonder where this comes in. This is during the two-hundred year transition between the Prologue and Chapter 1.
Thanks again, Cecil.

I've been contemplating it all day, it should come easily. And I always start from the beginning of the story, even if it's not really the beginning of their story (if that makes any sense whatsoever).
[catches your brain in a bowl] Don't wanna lose that, now. Should I put it in the gutter next to mine?
