I feel quite sorry for a lot of the creatures from the Mario series... If you've payed attention to the series and the backstory in the manuals... a lot of innocents are slaughtered by Mario as he quests to save Princess Peach.
Princess Peach also never transforms her servants and loyalists whom are transformed into bricks by Bowser back into their true selves as well... so they are stuck forever in that petty state, and Mario bops out their belongings to use for future quests...
Bowser might be an iron-shelled Tyrant, but Peach is a pure selfish evil Monarch as well. Ah, its funny what love has drawn Mario into? And sad... so sad...
