I adopted this character from
redtealblue http://www.furaffinity.net/view/18618362/ !!
The design was adopted, but this artwork of her is mine, and the backstory and details are mine too.
Bio: Ring is a 1900 year-old Wood Dragon. She finally got the first ring on her body (like a tree), around her neck, signifying her adulthood. (As wood dragons age, they get more rings down their body).
Now, most dragons, with their wisdom, age, and fantastical powers, decide to become like gods as they mature, living the high-life of worship and receiving gifts in exchange for their blessings and miracles... but Ring decided she just wanted to get a regular job like any other animal, and use her powers to help people with the little things! She doesn't want to be treated differently or special because of her powers. She got tired of that hundreds of years ago!
And thus, she became a landscaper and gardener. She loves her job, and it's easy for her because her tears can make plants grow! She needs to drink water a lot, and she can even make plants and flowers grow on her wood-like body by pouring water on herself. She likes to give herself cute outfits made of leaves and flowers that she grows on her body! She can (usually) control it very well, unless she's emotional. And speaking of emotions; her horns grow into tree-like branches when angry or threatened.
She needs a lot of sunlight, too, and is afraid of the dark, because that's when she runs out of energy, and turns into a tree when she sleeps. Because of this, she stays indoors in the light at night, and rarely gets sleep. It's fine for a magical dragon, but it can make her jittery and irritable. Why sleep when she could be working in a well-lit greenhouse? There's lots to do!
Hope you like her, she's one of my fave adopts now...
