--EDIT--
This is an updated Version of my old pic, which I replaced instead of resubmit, just to not bug people out as its the exact same pose. :P
--EDIT--
Had the suden incling to do a random pose of my dragon character, vash As if he were busy using the computer...
I wanted to use a scene this time, so from those who are familiar with my old 3d animation class animation (none on FA, likely), this scene will be familiar to them..
I take no credit for the chair, desk or keyboard, they were freebies from turbosquid... Id list who, but I downloaded them over a year ago, and so honestly cant remember..
The monitor, mouse, cd case, flashdrive, headphone jack book, and ofcourse the dragon are made by /copyright myself...

One thing that is putting me off, on this pic is noise on the monitor screen. He seems to be interested in that noise. hmm is that loader screen or something? Rest is good, especially position he is sitting is very life-like if it's possible to say that about not existing creature.
Well I was planning on just having it white... but then I thought maybe a little fuzz would make it more interesting... I didnt want to add a photo because the rest of the scene is lackig that kind of detail... I concidered adding something in photoshop, but I wasnt sure what, and by this time it was like 2am, and I was becoming alot like him :3
Well just posing him only took about 15 minutes... maybe 20 tops, but adjusting the materials of the objects (some were screwed up when imported from an old max file of mine) tweaking the material on vash, and adjusting lighting I fooled around with an hour or two.. I just couldnt get it to look the way I wanted... >_> I didnt want to go totally lit up, but I didnt want him to apear dark either, and I didnt know maya would do realtime quick lighting untill I stumbled upon the feature...
I didnt need to do any modeling cause it was all done previously..
Thanks for the compliment ^_^

the time spent in modeling and rigging the dragon is something along the line of 15-30 hours (I cant quite remember)
Its tough to say how long things are, because you learn from practice just as mucha s you can learn from lessons or tutorials... you can learn the root basics in a week or two, but it will take longer to learn additional elements not inherently noticeable, such as UV mapping, rigging and texturing. well texturing is noticed..
