OMFG I HAVE GOT TO FAVORITE THIS. I am one of the biggest dachsie lovers out there. I buy anything dachshund, whether it be plushies, toys, or figurines.

You are right about dachshunds being the best breed ever, They are. I have a brindle miniature at home, and that's him in my icon.

I'm not crazy about Labs to begin with, I don't hate'm, just not my type lol.

Do you have a dachshund? They're far from perfect. I've got four (one with my grandfather, three in my house) and they're the most annoying little fuckers I've ever seen. They bark 24/7, they're very difficult to toilet train, they bite and bark at anyone who visits (except in some cases with my friend Zach), and they're pretty stupid.


But they're the sweetest little things and I wouldn't trade them for anything (Though if I Could, I would turn them into cats..they'd be the same dogs, but just...cats).

Yes I have a Dachshund, and I have to say, except for barking a little bit at strangers, she's nothing like you mentioned lol. Plus I think people have different interpretations of the word "perfect".
She doesn't bark for the most part, just sometimes, but it quickly subsides.
She's housebroken for the most part, granted, she's still young, but she goes to the door when she needs to go.
She NEVER bites, ever.
She's smart.

Granted, she does have a few things we need to work with her on, like confidence. Other than that, I'm extremely happy with my perfect little Doxie. :'3

Lucky you.. Everyone I know with dachshunds have the problems I have (and it's pretty well known they can be difficult to toilet train). Maybe it's easier with one doxie? Everyone I know also has at least two.

When we just had Dexter (the oldest, he's got the black and brown standard color, smoothhair, and he's missing a leg :D) he had no problem..just an accident every now and then when no one was home to let him out.

Dexter! That's SUCH a cute name lol.
But that could be it. Alone time with one dog for training? Seems appropriate.
I have 5 pets, but my female, Scout, is my first ever dog, so I am learning still as well as she is.
She's a longhair, choco'tan dapple.

Awww sounds adorable! Abby, second oldest, is a tan long hair, with black tipped ears. Poor thing has allergies ;;. Third oldest, Ted, lives with my grandfather. He's a short hair silver dapple and he's way overweight D: but my uncle (who takes care of him instead of my grandfather, because he's attached to him) won't walk him and keeps feeding him food he shouldn't eat (....like McDonald's french fries...).
Fourth dog lives with us, Hazel. She's short hair, has brown pitbull colors, and I think she might actually have a bit of pitbull in her, because she doesn't look like the other dachshunds in a lot of ways.

Any small dog annoys me. Actually, most dogs annoy me.
I really don't like their smell and their messes. =____= Small dogs make bigger messes in less time though.

But I personally prefer larger breeds myself, however where I live, it's not practical.
Also, Dachshunds are big dogs in little bodies, and they rock. So there.
