The tail is a recent piece and has been used for two Lego Minifigures so far. Both of which were in the Lego Minifigure Series line. It's been used for "Scratchy" of "The Simpsons" and the "Tiger Girl" for "Halloween 2015".
This tail came from the Tiger Girl. Being a similar color already for what was needed would make it easier for color customization.
