A badge of my warrior lion character, Warren, done by the the truly wonderful
kirawra She was lovely to work with, patient and polite and so accommodating... she did more to smooth the process than I could possibly have asked for, and even when I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted or how to describe it, she rose to the challenge and made it work.
I commissioned this last year, at Rainfurrest '15. When this whole thing began, she said she wasn't good with drawing armor... I think she proved herself wrong here, I really do. The armor in this image is a wonder. The plates are layered very well, and I love how she reflected the fires of war in that bronze-gold metallic shine. It's just... wow.
I love the snarling face; it's perfect for him. The wild mane, beautiful. And unlike your everyday berserker, the sharp focus of his eyes shows that he knows exactly where his next target is.
Okay... Since this will be the first that some of you have seen of this character, I suppose I should stop gushing about the awesome long enough to get some kind of bio up here...

Warren was first formed in my mind as a character for a SWAT Kats roleplay that started on its own site and is currently ongoing on discord.
His first incarnation was as an underling to Dark Kat... but in true shortsighted villain fashion, Dark Kat didn't really respect him as a person, and Warren finally turned himself in to the Enforcers when he got sick of being treated like a mindless meat shield.
Following a reboot of the game, I turned Warren into a SWAT Kat for his next incarnation, and I didn't even really need to change his personality all that much to do it. The only major difference between Warren the First and Warren the Second, is that Warren the First was basically just a big ball of aggression without any real purpose behind it. Warren the Second was taught from a relatively early age to focus that aggression toward worthwhile causes.
In the incarnation depicted here, he's changed from a kat into a more generic lion, but aside from the changes in form and setting, he's still pretty much the same character. In the world that all of my characters inhabit in some form or other, this one in particular is Captain of the Guard in Araka, one of the border cities of a nation that I haven't named yet, because naming my creations is, on average, the hardest part of the creation process for me. ;p
Warren in this incarnation is one of the younger children of the lord that currently presides over the land surrounding Araka; the lord, in turn, is a distant cousin of the nation's King Leoric the Fifth. This technically puts Warren in line for the throne, but his penchant for battle is such that it's unlikely he'll even outlive his elder siblings' claim to their father's seat. Warren's well aware of this, and has no ambitions on that kind of inherited authority, and thus when he bothers with titles at all, he prefers to be called "Captain"; it's a title he truly earned, and one that he feels suits him far better.
UPDATE: The actual physical badge came in the mail today, and it's just as beautiful in person. I was fair sure already, but now it's official: When I need someone to make something look badass, I'll be looking at KiRAWRa first.
