The latter season has arrived for Fiela and Rey, and more telling of such than the snow on the sill and the blistering cold is the nasty bug that has ridden the wolfess to bed. Only time will tell whether or not poor Rey survives day one.
Merry holidays, everybody! Maybe slightly less merry for these two. This is a story I started in November of 2014, but I missed the December deadline so I postponed it til next year. I still managed to be slightly late, but better late than never!
Within, Fiela and Rey celebrate Second Solstice, a rich and caramel-sweet mix of Christmas and Valentine's day, as they make an attempt to survive one another. Expect an indulgent romp for those of you that like size difference, paws, and cute things!

Very adorable.
Heh, funny how in just the first page alone there was a zig-zag of clashing personalities XD Fiela acting her usual prideful self and not wanting to be felt sorry for.... them immediately wanting Rey to show her affection.... and then I was surprised by Rey's sharp reply back about not wanting to risk getting sick too. Always is a cute scenario when a micro is helping a sick macro, even moreso when the macro is prideful... though I doubt Fiela would agree.
Both Fiela and Rey felt kinda.... aggressive in their language towards each other in this chapter... despite their actions being even more affectionate than usual. Oh, and I share their amusement that giants and tinies happen to share a holiday.
I first I was kinda surprised Rey didn't know what a hair dryer was. Granted, it was ambiguous what level of technology the tinies had, but I could have sworn one chapter mentioned them sorting through some junk parts and there were pistons in there, making me assume they had developed cars.... then I realized it wasn't a hair dryer.... though Rey's bewilderment about it was still just as amusing.
To be honest, I was kind wondering if this chapter was doing to end with the usual joke of Fiela getting better just as Rey gets sick, while it would have been funny I was happy to see you didn't use that old cliche, what you wrote was a lot better and original than that.
(P.S., one final thought... I never realized how tiny Rey was, it's almost like he got even smaller in this chapter )

Ahah! When Fiela loses her composure, she gets pretty bad at hiding her feelings. Or at least, she has to re-calibrate herself! That gives Rey pleeenty of time to get his digs in and push back a little bit at the poor prone wolfess.
Aye, I feel like the spike in salt in vitriol could be entirely pinned on Fiela getting sick. Then because of how close they actually are with each other, it just rubber bands back until the next old couple squabble topic that comes up. |3
As far as the level of technology for tinies goes, it's sort of at a point where it's stagnated. Dexter tries to mess with things, but rarely makes a whole lot of innovative progress. Anything as optionally privileged as hair irons and other beauty products beyond lotions and the like is either rare, endemic to specific locations, or doesn't exist to tinies. Poor Rey has never seen something quite so dangerous in his life!
As far as Rey's size goes... let's say that I've settled best on his actual size. |3 Glad you enjoyed all in all, Tendo, and thanks for commenting! :3

Those two are just so biting and acerbic with each other and I love it. |3
I feel that the series of short scenes piecing this vignette together worked wonderfully! Very useful for approaching a day in the life of sickwuff. The gaps between the scenes served as find and unspoken transitions while Fiela fumbled and bumbled her way through the day sick and snuffly as can be. Very cute and sweet and pawsy story, Mannoth! Moufy too. :V

Hee. They are a couple peanut packs of salt and vitriol, aren't they?
Ah, I'm really glad to know that my decision to just glue together a bunch of sequenced vignettes worked the way it did! It was a delight just slapping on as much cuteness as I could think of and twisting the general power scales as the situation saw fit. Rey getting his digs in whenever he can, and Fiela gnashing her teeth whenever she couldn't push back. |3 Super glad you liked it all! Particularly the paws. |3c
