Overall, its a beautiful piece. Character is done really well, no complaints there.
The rocks need some fine work/tuning, though. I hope you don't mind the TMI, but from the thumbnail, without looking at your name, I actually thought this was a Scat piece. xD
Not meaning to offend of course. The rocks are of good detail, but you could use some variety in shapes and sizes, as well as some coloring and such!
The brown atmosphere of the piece is pretty nice as well. Water is good, but could use a bit more slight ripples to reflect the more rocky nature of the water underneath.
I'd also like to point out that most waters such as yours have a banking of sand or sediment on the sides of the rocks where it builds up. The pool that his footpaw is sticking in as well shouldn't have a directly noticeable flow to it as the river/waterflow wouldn't necessarily be strong enough to show that. Of course it'd still be there, but very small and could possibly only feel it if your feet/feetpaws were in the water. :P

Thanks for the suggestions I'll remember them for next time.
The river is actually based on a place that I go to for holidays. There's no sand - just big round rocks through the water and under it. Trying to get through the shallows into the deeper water is full of laughs because round rocks covered in algae are massively slippery and you practically have to crawl out.

Just next time, maybe note me with them if it's a commission. I don't think it's fair on someone to pay money for something and then see that someone else thinks it looks like a scat picture from afar.
