Here's a much older character study drawn quite a while ago.
I've changed up my style since then and have changed my shading approach to using greyscale - that tends to improve depth and reduce the 'airbrushed' feel. This one stood out, so I decided to post it up : )

Basically, I paint my picture sort of like a black and white photograph before I start adding color. Colors are then added with multiply and overlay layers using abode Photoshop. More information on the process here. Hope that helps. : )
