Sorry, for this is quite a few days late! Prepping for Anthro New England!
We live-streamed all four of the semifinal playoff games this weekend, and we had a great turnout! My thoughts do go to those who will not be advancing, but in this league where most of us have at least one player in the mix, it's not a *total* loss!
Here is the updated bracket:
LAS VEGAS defeated TEXAS, 28-14, largely due to Andrew Calder (QB - Marten) leaving the game early on with a footpaw injury. Their passing game was in the hands of Gregory Russell, who is decent, but he's no next-level superstar. After tying the game at 14 all, Las Vegas intercepted two balls which were returned for touchdowns, and that was the difference in this one. The Bandits win their first playoff game of their history.

NEW YORK defeated CHICAGO, 24-20; the Outlaws will have to wait another year to prove what they've got. Coming in with five straight wins, including one against the Titans, it looked promising until the 4th quarter, when the Titans overtook the Outlaws 21-20 on a short pass to Joe Hoff. Give credit to the Chicago secondary for picking off the ball late in the 4th to get one last shot at a score, but New York took their first playoff victory in stride.
New York (12-5) now heads to Las Vegas (14-3) for the United Conference Championship.
BALTIMORE defeated GRAND RAPIDS, 45-28; there's the adage, "the Buck stops here." But in Baltimore, the buck keeps on going. Aspen Redfield (QB - Deer) passed for over 500 yards, including a playoff-record 98-yard pass to John Gradkowski, dumbfounding one of the best defenses in the league, and cementing the Ponies win. The game was a shootout until Austin Pool ran in his third touchdown of the game. Redfield also scored on the ground twice.
CALIFORNIA defeated FARGO 19-17; Fargo led this game until, with under one minute left, rookie kicker Andrew Castonguay (K - Bass fish) parted the air with a 37-yard field goal, his fourth of the game. A short run out of bounds and a Hail Mary pass couldn't secure a last-second victory for Christina Carson and the Axemen, who leave empty-pawed after going all the way to the FurBowl last year. Dons rookie Mylène Jean (WR - Cheetah) notched over 100 yards in the first playoff victory for California.
Baltimore (9-8) heads to California (10-7) for the Continental Conference Championship.
So! January 16th's games will be our championship games, which determine who will move one step closer to FurBowl II.
THIS WEEKEND: Saturday, January 16th @ 4 PM PST / 7 PM EST
#3 New York (12-5) @ #1 Las Vegas (14-3)
#4 Baltimore (9-8) @ #2 California (10-7)
Thanks,
