I have like 3 dog breed books.

Ooooooo what's your favorite breed(s)? :D

Beauceron. Lundehund. Pembroke welsh corgi. Aussie sheps (still need to study them more). Pit bulls. Border collies. German shepherds. HUSKIES <3 bear dogs (the black and white ones).

Its also late so my brain is dropping the info of them.

I love Australian shepherds (little biased), Siberian huskies, American Staffordshire terriers (all "pitbull" dogs really), Great danes, German shepherds/Alsatians, Samoyeds, Catahoula leopard dogs, Border collies, annnnnd "Native American Indian Dogs" which are a designer breed in my state made to look like wolves (met a few who are really great dogs). I have way to many favorites to count but I'm partial to herding and Spitz groups. Mutts are the best though!

OMG THIS IS AMAZING!

But yessssss. I used to travel overseas for work and I was lucky enough to meet a Caucasian Mountain Dog and a Swedish Lapphund and a Thai Ridgeback. I was also taking a bus to the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an and passed the main breeding center for Tibetan Mastiffs.

I'm great at breed guessing most of the time. I love guessing the breeds or breed type.

It's always awkward though when someone is like "Yeah my dog is a husky mix" and you're like "that dog doesn't have any husky in him."

"But Toki, he has blue eyes, can't you see?"

"Yes, I can see that. Any dog can have blue eyes. Not just the ones the AKC require to."

"Well he must be part Chow Chow, he has a spotted black tongue."

"Chow Chows have full black tongues. A spotted black tongue doesn't mean he's part Chow Chow. Shepherds commonly have black spotted tongues."

"Well if he's not a Husky and he's not a Chow Chow, what is he!?"

"Well you got him at the pound in Arizona. He's probably a pitbull/shepherd mix. Which is why he's short and stocky but has a double coat."

"My landlord doesn't allow pit bulls!"

"Yeah that's why the pound put him down as a Husky mix..."

OMG same.
My family has an Akita/Aussie Cattle dog mix and they put him down as a normal Aussie cattle mix cause they can't have Akitas in their area. He's pretty big but I also haven't seen him since I was younger so I'll need to look at him again.
