No, seriously. They were EVERYWHERE.

We just didn't question it for a few days until we went on a hike and came across a professional photographer getting some pictures of these things. She explained that, apparently, butterflies don't just need nectar, they also need minerals. So they go to places where there are lots of minerals in the ground and just drink all the water there.

Which explains why they kept mobbing.
