In the past, its been a rare opportunity for me to create art that isn't directly commissioned. Luckily, the past few months I've managed to change that, having more space in the schedule to not only work on personal stuff, but gifts and trades as well. So this week, I wanted to make something for a friend who I've gone a painfully long time without chatting to.
This is just something cute and silly for my friend and fellow artist and animal lover
, who is one of those rare people who gets the way I think. I had the fortune of actually visiting her once a few summers ago, and if you managed to catch our livestream, you'll remember us running out of the room and basically abandoning the stream for five minutes because her husband found a toad outside and we wanted to play with it. Our fondness for the cutest of wee critters is only matched by our enthusiasm to pet, poke, squish and love on them, so here's our chibi selves making some poor frog have a bad day. >u< There's a few inside jokes packed into this picture, I probably won't explain them here unless someone *really* wants to know, but she should get them. lol
I miss our talks girl, I hope life is treating you well and your 2016 is good so far. Have some cute art from a friend who's still around, just not wanting to pester. >.>

aww, that froggy looks so weary... wasn't the first time some chibis caught him to poke, hm? :)

hey, as for tiny critters... last summer those little white speckles come out that are around in the last light of a day. one landed on a lamp post, and I got to look at them closer for the first time in my life... looked like a tiny moth with translucent wings with a few dark indigo scales. and a butt full of blueish-white fluff. :) I poked the thing, but it barely moved. so it was fur, pristine and a bit shaggy. no idea what they are called... but they are cute. ^^

So cute! And dude, I would have dropped everything and run out to play with the toad too, I love frogs and toads. I actually made my sister-inlaw move out of her garden chair because there was a frog sitting in the other chair and I wanted to sit next to it and gaze at it. She laughed at me and let me have her seat.
When I was like 6 or 7, we lived in Phoenix and our apartment complex had a lake, so every evening in the summer my mom and dad would walk me down there so I could catch toads on the sidewalks. I'd end up with a whole basketful of them and then let them go when I was done. I adore frogs and toads, I still get excited when I find one on my porch. They always look so grumpy but I can't resist picking them up and taking a picture. I always get peed on too. >u<

Holy shit, girl, this is somehow both gorgeous and cute! And I adore all the inside jokes...including my beloved Late Pangur Ban in her beautiful chariot/candle holder! Also, the owl with the feathers petted off of it is amazing. I need to make an icon out of his face to use as my less than impressed icon for when I have shit fits here on FA.
I can't tell you how much it means to have you as a friend. I hope we can get to see each other sometime this year! I miss my glitterbitch! And also, this means ART WAR!
