Not really a story, just a character I came up with in my spare time. Built using pathfinder stats.
I've said before that I love the proteans. I also love the serpentfolk. Shape-shifting reptilian humanoids who value magic and intelligence, and are also super good at infiltrating and manipulating other societies? What's not to love? Unless you're David Icke and actually believe they exist in real life, but in that case, please get help.
They harken back to the serpent men from Robert E. Howard's Conan and Kull stories, although they've been expanded and fleshed out more in the Pathfinder setting. And I have my own ideas about how they'd work. Anyway, I love these guys.
Not sure what I'm going to do with this character. Don't have anyone to play D&D with anymore. Don't really have a story in mind. But I guess if anyone else wants to use the character in their own D&D stuff, they can.
Should like to have a character reference sheet designed, but I can't draw and I'm not looking to spend any money just now. Maybe in the future.

Got linked here by the reference sheet; I love the serpentfolk too! I actually ran Serpent's Skull, which is a Serpentfolk-themed slightly pulpish adventure path. Not the best put-together one (I made a lot of changes to the adventures as written), and I didn't actually get to finish it (got kind of burnt out before they tacked the massive final dungeon), but so many sexy serpents.
Yar, the serpent-folk are awesome. I always preferred to play them more like the original Kull the Conqueror books, where they would use their illusions to infiltrate human society and take it over because they were so bitter about the destruction of their homeland during the great ice age.
Funnily enough, the character who's name I'm referencing wasn't actually a snake-man in the original source material. The snake-man was Wrath Ammon, while Thulsa Doom was actually an undead sorcerer (the first lich in literature history).
But these days people remember the movie more. And with James Earl Jones playing the part, it's not hard to see why.

Actually, Wrath-Amon was created exclusively for the 1992/3 Animated Series and was once just a regular lizard, who was then made into a Lizardman by the Thoth-Amon Expy, Ram-Amon.
And I'll confess to preferring the JEJ Thulsa Doom over the Skeletor-esque one - even though Skeletor was almost certainly built on the skull-headed Thulsa Doom.
