The quite large and long awaited commission for Soulhunter-Amras.
This is actually the largest commission I have done so far and also one which I simply couldn't resist to go overboard with detailing. It took me quite long to complete bt I must say that it was worth it and that I feel great now.
I also used this picture to experiment a bit more with colouring and shading a character and tried out how to make him stand out from the bright background without making it too overloaded.
The Moon: I don't know why I think about this but you might be curious how long I took to paint that damned moon. It was the most difficult part of the picture with took longer than anything else in addition. I spent the most time on thinking how to paint the moon and looked for tutorials and references of how to paint a detailed moon.
I couldn't find any good tutorials, so I found the last solution: textures and brush strokes!
It takes long but I like it in the end. XD
Before I actually started colouring the entire picture, I sat hours in front of it and thought how the hell I can do it. lol
Don't ask me why but I took this commission extremely, extremely serious. So seriously, that I even want to send it to Ballistic Publishing's Expose - I already got the permission from the commissioner.
It's worth a try me thinks. In the end, they took my Gryphon picture for Exotique. :D
I really hope you like it and that it will be large enough to cover your wall. ;) Thanks so much again!

I have one slot open for a large commission like this! Please note me if you're interested. Only serious questions please.

I'm going to make you teach me how to draw scales and do dramatic lighting whether you like it or not! XD
But I just love that lighting! The details are so amazing! And the moon...it's so beautiful! I wish I could paint like this. ^^; The detail in those wings is amazing! :D

Tja nun, was will man da noch großartig sagen, außer: Das ist verdammt geil!

(Comment copy 'n pasted from DA, cuz' I'm a lazy comment ho XD)
This is plain awesome in oh so many ways!
Details:
I think you noticed ny now that I am a total sucker for those and you managed to enrich this piece by adding them in a way that just blends in perfectly with everything else. It doesn't look like an overload of textures, it just fits, you know? My favourite bits of the dragon are the neck scales under the chin area and the wings. Seriously... I always have such a hard tim drawing dragon wings and especially the skins and you did just an awesome job with that. They look like genuine organic material! And the moon ... honey, you pulled off such a breathtaking job with that one. It was definately worth all the effort!
Light/ Atmosphere:
Gosh, I love what you can do with light effects! I adore what you can do with them. This picture is dramatic, so full of ... I dunno... I am tempted to say "action" but this term might awaken a false impression. ^^; Something's definately going in this piece. *g*
Composition:
Kudos to you for truly bringing along an absolutely dynamic piece. There is so much strength and power in the stance of the character. Even though he's not flying his entire body urges upwards into the sky. Absolutely incredible!
