An update on a character of mine called Juno Vasdasz, A woman of a hunter- gathering society with an overpopulation problem. As a result, the majority moved into the woods and taken up chastity, and most commonly homosexual relationships (Juno being an example) to take in the overabundant number of infants from the cities.
They don’t overkill though, as they see the creatures as sacred and their hunts as rites of passages; all of which begins with prayer for a good hunt and a quick kill.
Most of the creatures they hunt are usually peaceful, but easily aggressive deer like animals with tough hide and skulls. As such they utilize high-powered, secondhand .60 caliber rifles to take down the 30 foot tall animals in one shot to the spinal area near the neck.
They take the creatures slain and use practically every part of it’s body, believing not a single thing should go to waste. The food they don’t keep, as well as keepsake crafted from the remains, are sold to keep an economic cycle with their city brethren’s.
Hope you like her!

Thank you for the kind words!
I actually did take into consideration the enormous PSI and forces that would be exerted on the rifle, hence the massive muzzle brake at the front, with most of the rear consisting of threading to keep the brake from being blown off. The recoil suppression of the stock, while not useful for bolt-action, does assist in the lithe people in firing the weapon from being blown backwards, even when fired prone as it's meant to be. Another reason I had for the recoil device was that the rifle was originally a poorly kept, hand-me down rifle of an originally smaller caliber modified by Juno (who had very little firearms knowledge at first) with secondhand parts to fire a .60 cal bullet (resulting in the direct contact of the barrel to the receiver as it was easier for her to do and the improvised scope mount.) Her first attempt to fire it actually caused the stock to crack, necessitating a recoil device.
As for the lug, I admit I actually placed the lug in the wrong place (it's the long slab of metal above the bolt), but it's there.
Hope that clears things up.

So, this pic is a year-or-so old now, but it's been stuck in my head! Like all your artwork, i love it! But this one just grabs me! Between the ornate design of that really-fancy looking rifle, and the whole survivalist aesthetic...And that snout and ears , I've kind of fallen in love with the whole Sniper Jackal Idea and would love to make my own Sniper Jackal character! Would you be alright with me taking inspiration from your pic? Obviously, i don't plan on making a direct rip-off, aiming for a more military/post-apoc-style.
