What Could Have Been
So,
Guffaw, just... by the by, is fuckin amazing. Making more than one sketch to get the mood right.
He made several sketches of the idea behind what became Irish Coffee and this sketch really holds a special place for me.
There's something about that lowered down hunkered pose and the slightly more sedated grin.. a solid view of the eyepatch...
I love the finalized version of the picture but there was a time where this could've been it.
