Here's what the painting looks like before I've started glazing the colour. Neat to compare it the finished painting. Glazing takes a while because you have to build up the colours in thin, transparent layer so you don't obscure the under painting. You also have to let each layer dry thoroughly or you'll just pick up the colour again when you try to lay down the next coat.

The line "Rainy days and Mondays" is from a song but I can't remember which one and now it's bugging me... help!
I think I prefer this version for the mood it evokes when I think of rainy days and Mondays (not the song) but the other coloured version gives an entirely different feeling, as though she's looking out from her room rather than looking out while contemplating something introvertedly as in this black and white version.

It's the title of a song by the Carpenters. Go to http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1885455/ for further info.

That's just gorgeous; I had no idea that that was how you did it! I just thought you laid down base washes then just layered color over and over and then darks/shadows over that. I didn't realize you had a gray version beneath that you them laid translucent layers of color over and built up. That's amazing.
