You must have me mistaken for somebody who knows... well, anything about music. Just kidding, but as for the melody that starts around 1:27, I've sort of gotten in the habit lately of just putting some sort of counter melody over the main loop in just about every song. OH! I just figured out what you were talking about with the chords.

I need to work on creating decent counter-melodies... i sort of just get stuck half way through making a song, not wanting to just repeat the same thing over but also stuck for ideas =(

Well, your music is less repetitive right off the bat. An easy way to make a good counter melody is to just make a short part of the song loop, and keep listening to it until you "hear" something that might fit well over top of it. Well, that's how I do it anyway.

This gives me some good ideas for counter-melodies for my song.

This song is pretty B-A though.

Oh man, if you want something to draw ideas from for counter melodies, you gotta check out "Cosmic Pod". Not my best work altogether (I suppose none of these tracks really are, lol), but there's two fairly long "solos", if you will, that are probably some of the best melodies I've ever cranked out. And if you're still in the mood to give another song a listen after that, check out "The Roller Rink"- it's an 80's themed synth-pop song with, again, two pretty long solos, but this time on the real keyboard, instead of the fake guitar.

B-but the faker the better! >(
