Another Pokemon pic, sorry guys... I'm loving how much Pokemon art I'm seeing in my new submissions lately! XD Did this one over a few late-night sessions this week.
My Blastoise, Jetsam, babysits the newest addition to my team, a baby Buizel named, you guessed it, Flotsam :P This being my first play-through of any game past Gen II, I'd never encountered a Floatzel before, but I knew enough to immediately catch a breeding pair and produce this little guy, and I've been in love with him ever since <3

I haven't kept up with any of the movies or tv shows since waaay back (I saw the first three, maybe four movies), but when I was Googling refs of Buizel for this picture I guessed that he must have become a major pokemon in the tv series from the amount of screencaps and furry fanart there is!
True story... when I first read the LotR trilogy in high school and came upon a chapter entitled "Flotsam and Jetsam", I had never heard either term before and had assumed it would be the names of a couple of characters introduced in that chapter. That didn't happen and became a source of confusion for me.
Flotsam and jetsam refer to specific types of shipwreck or cargo that washes up on the shore. Flotsam being chunks of a wrecked ship, and jetsam being pieces of cargo or things that are purposefully jettisoned off of the ship to lighten the load. Somehow I knew this before I watched the little mermaid, so I got the joke - no one else did though and I was always really confused why no one thought the names were clever. I guess no one was as into maritime terminology as I was at age 8 -3-.
