"I don't know if you've ever let someone down, got your ass kicked or straight up failed. But those are the moments that define us. They push you further than you've ever thought possible, and force you to make choices. No matter what the cost." ~Cole McGrath~
So, the upside of having your lead character to be a mouflon based on the Aries sign is that you get to very often draw him with an unamused frown matching your own and showing off his rather alarmingly large and thick forehead to kindly remind you ramming you in the face is totally an option if you keep annoying him.
...with all the headbutting people possibilities, it kinda makes me wish I were a mouflon, too. Or at least a Scotsman.

So, this thing mutated a lot. It was originally supposed to go for a more heraldic feel, as it was meant as a cover for the printed book of SEMPER FIDELIS, but, as usual when I plan something, it laughed at me and dashed away, giving wedgies to passersby. Obviously, this can no longer be a cover, unless I somehow during the next four months change the whole plot to be some weird protossy space-opera, so if you have a suggestion for a cover image, I'm all ears, because I frankly have no idea what to put there and blank page with text scribbled on it would look extremely weird.

The science-fiction vibe for me comes mostly from suddenly remembering why does it seem so familiar when I was done with it: The Dark Templar Saga.
Either way, yes, this is now useless as a cover image. I have yet to find a better one...

It's... kinda hilarious for you to say that, because when I played the latest Dragon Age: Inquisition, I named and based my human Inquisitor on this guy's (humanized, obviously) features and behavior. So SemperFi/Dragon Age crossover is totally a thing. At least in my PlayStation's savefiles x)
Awwww shiiii~ That's so badass!
Hmmm, I can see where you make the connection to sci-fi with the Star Craft book covers.
However from my point of view it could just be symbolism... or all manner of occult and dark influences that he draws upon in that cover image.
The mark on his chest could be a symbol of an order, a clan... and in an act of foreshadowing the red mist pouring from it shows that the character will be corrupted by their influence or perhaps struggle under their leadership. Perhaps he must undergo a test of character and will inevitably part ways with his former compatriots!
As for occult/witchcraft:
The way you added the constellation of aries in the background reminds me of how medieval literature depicted them, and those that believed in magic, druidism, witchcraft and the like often looked to the stars in their attempts at drawing upon greater powers...
So this image sort of gives me the vibe of... a witcher of sorts. Someone who has been enhanced by dark druidic powers... witchcraft... to fulfill some sort of purpose. Somehow the stars were involved in the process... I mean it being aries is pretty damn fitting. ;D
