My grandpa used to talk about rawhead and bloody bones, but I never made the connection that he was talking about something eating kids! D:

This piece is so badass though. It has a real good bloody, sinewy feel to it. If anything could scare children into brushing their teeth, it would be this kick ass dude!

I read a story about a bloody pig carcass demon that was a fairy tale from the South, it sounds like some families from the Uk brought over their myths and they changed a few things over the years. I really enjoy both versions of the character, which is why he has a piggish skull but is also a bit more evil and old fashioned than the Southern rawhead. Let me know if you remember any of the stuff your grandpa told you. I'm trying to resaerch storeis, but there aren't many!

There's a book called Rawhead, that uses him as a basis for a serial killer. Very good book :)

ooooo, need to check that out! I read a few essays on how many old myths and legends like werewolves and fairys were used to explain or warn people about criminal activities, so it seems appropriate to have a rawhead killer!
