Back at MFF  dreamkeepers was nice enough to host a panel with me about making comics (Someone filmed the whole hour: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8v0.....ature=youtu.be ) . It was my first panel ever, Dave was under no obligation to do it but showed up and made it something really great I think. I don't draw a whole lot of fanart but I started reading DK way back in early college and it was really fucking cool to do a panel about comics with a comic artist whom I've pretty much idolized. On Sunday we even got drinks and played board games, it was the best con ever.

I've noticed a lot of the fanart that DK gets tries to replicate the style of the comic so I decided to just do the character Vi (my personal favorite) according to my own design sensibilities because adapting Dave's incredibly different style to my own sounded like a fun challenge; and it was! Hell, I think our contrasting styles is one of the reasons our panel worked out as well as it did. Having the diagrams of the guns in the back of volume 4 definitely made that aspect easier (though I probably drew the wrong kind of shell casing). I also gave her more of a "Lara Croft" look because uh...I wanted to. I've got no excuse other than I think it's cool to kick ass in booty shorts.
