I 'always' wanted to draw this dragon... Maybe I would do more of him... eventually...
This ended up being yet another experiment in the way I do highlights. For now, I used the Airbrush on an Overlay layer (with the shiny parts) and a Multiply layer (with the shadows).
I should warn you that the colours do not match the original exactly because I use the X11 palette. However, I did deliberately changed the claw/horn colour, thus contrasting better against the white parts of his armour. Also, the bigger, more muscular wings were a deliberate choice I made. I mean, I want to imagine him being at least a little more skyworthy.

I now see what you mean. This is the glitch I'm talking about that occurs if you use ... we say cubic interpolation. A fine lineart which is very good anti-aliased by the vector exporter is aliased by bad downscaling. Maybe you should give GIMP a try and make a per-pixel comparsion. The scaler i'm talking about is accessible using Image -> Scale Image and then select "Sinc (Lanczos3)" as interpolation.
(To anyone reading this comment, Lysam was responding to my comment on how the lineart here looks... painful.)
I used GIMP multiple times. I found GIMP too messy. However, I think I might use GIMP when scaling down the lineart. I actually scaled down the lineart of this picture through Paint.NET.
