A story, why not.
Quadruple-wide shoes made it wonderfully easy to remove them, even with laces still on, and the comfy warmth of being in unrestricting shoe cooled to the amazing cold freedom of just being socked.
The plane taxiied.
Even still on the ground, there would be no itching or cramped space or stinkfeet or anything that usually happens on a flight. This would be freetoeing all the way cross-country. With a moderately shaven leg the look was sweet. The aisle seat was sweeter, under the excuse of stretching one smooth round leg swept out to the walkway to show off that fine foot. With many more excuses of keeping circulation going both feet splayed, one underseat, the other showing off to the rows near enough, lucky enough, hopefully encouraged enough to see. Hopefully other people would go socked, and moreso bare. Everyone deserved to.
Takeoff was the usual, and the fascinating power and vibration of engines felt through the cabin floor was fun to feel, just a thin layer of white, and tired but happy thick soleskin just past it.
Funny, the thought occurred that these feet were now approaching three hundred miles and hour and passing it, and shooting through ten thousand more feet altitude (oh so many more like it! What a pun!) and yet it was still so casual, so unassuming, and yet good stretching to stroke up and down seat legs, to wrap and grip around bars, to maybe visit other more imprisoned feet maybe in the seat up front, or to stretch legs wonderfully and push fat curled toes to just touch barely to someone sitting behind. It just takes a little thought and a mind for play to make for quiet fun!
Freedom. For most maybe that doesn't occur in a tight plane seat, but freedom could be started off just feeling shoes pull off, really appreciated with socks that separated and slightly realigned each toe just right, and completed.... as with a gentle tug times five, one toesock gave way, and another five tugs, and the aluminum frames and bars and carpet were now getting the graces of thick yet tender soleskin...
Eh, why not, you get a story.
