I've had this little pewter figure since the early nineties. I dug it out recently and found it covered in grim and discolored. So I cleaned it best I could, then went and painted it.

I think you mean "grime" not "grim"... :) Um... yeah. Me and my sense of humor.
Anyway, your Nightmare looks like its on fire! I like the flame on the tail and mane and chest... but I'm not sure I'm sold on the front-leg being half-in-flame. Also, I think you should put it on a 25mm x 50mm base.
I do like the red eyes.
Now all you need is a Dullahan to ride your steed of death! ))
