I drew this lil one on Christmas Day right after I received a nice lil sketching set that had a bunch of charcoal (leave it to me to get charcoal for Christmas and be ecstatic about it XD). For the most part, I think she might return as I had a lot of fun drawing her, she's mostly a mix but has part Border Collie if that isn't her breed but I think her ears are too poofy to be like that and is missing some markings to be entirely a BC. Ah well, regardless, I likes her much, I hope you guys do too ^^
Done with charcoals and ish mine >w< (Sorry for the messy upper area, charcoals a tad harder to get away from >>;)

Well, thankfully I didn't have to eliminate it but just had to repost the submish, I hope it's a bit better now, the resolution limit is at 800x600 but if it's still too big then I'll try to shrink it further down. After the whole size thing is resolved, I'll do the same for the other arts and future submisshes =3
Well, I tried it this time with a limit of 800x600, for about a 15" screen. Is it still too big or is that way better, depending on what you tell me, I could either keep this one since I can actually see the image in full without having to scroll this time or make it smaller. Regardless, after this is cleared up, I hope to go back on the submissions and adjust them to this resolution =3
I'm glad she looks it =3
As for her hair, at least the ears, I intended them to be uber fluffy since she lacks head fur for now. ^^ I have considered doing it like that but I just enjoy the way charcoal leaves you no space for mistakes so you tend to be either extra careful or lose the image in its entirety. And somehow, mixing them both, while it is a good thing since you draw, say a particular path, just kinda downs the randomness that is charcoal sketching, and I'll stop talking like I actually know what I'm talking about, since chances are I don't XD

you just told me about the way you like to use them, I personally thinks that makes sense (and probably a reason why I wont use them for sketching, I've considered trying them for some monochrome shading) the thing that put me off about her hair is probably that her hair and ears are the same color.
Ah...I think they're VERY useful for monochromes and lots of fun if you don't mind getting your hands messy, I sure don't, that's mostly why I love them so much XD And NOW I got what you meant by it XD She doesn't have hair, or well, head fur, that's all ear XD She just has really shaggy and poofy ears =3
Yesh, you'll have a bit of fun, I'd say ^^ But it's hard to erase mistakes, that's the only real drawback ^^;;;
And hmm, I had never really thought of it, I don't know, I just always make them hairless for some reason same for Wolfi. I guess it's just a preference, while I've drawn it on other characters no problem, it's rare for me to put hair on their fur, something about making them look TOO human or something like that, never know, just know that at least for Meeko, I didn't have any plans on headfur save for scraggly fur. ^^;;

sounds like I have something to look forwars to then.
nice to know, some folks just prefer their furry characters to be more animalistic, guess you're one of them, I've never considered drawing them without hair, adding the hair can be used to cover up mistakes on the face (misaligned eyes and the like).

Yeah, for some reason, I like them to be closer to that I guess XD And I completely forgot hair did that XD I know some people use it to cover up mistakes but then first I draw the head in the shape I like and then continue on with the other things XD How does hair cover misaligned eyes though? I can't say I can't tell how it does...=/
long flowing hair covering up a part of the eye (my problem lies in getting the angle right)
take this one for example http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1900443 had some prolem with her eyes and let one eye be covered up.

Ah...I gotcha now, yes, that's one way I'd say XD I just love long bangs in my case so...I never know if I'm really covering up imperfections D:
As for the artsies, I saw ^^ I haven't been able to check submissions since it's been so crazy lately but I hope to tonight DX
