A large papyrus painting. I have no idea what Sekhmet is up to in this pic but I don't think she's going to have to worry about being bothered on her walk:)

Uh, Sekhmet is a lioness. But it still looks wonderful.
Really.
My husband was wondering if you would ever think about doing Seshet? I can't say she has an animal form, but no one ever does her. I figured since you do a lot of Egyptian stuff, and you're so good at it too, that you'd be better to ask then anyone else.

Maybe we are seeing different pictures, but I see Sekhmet (humanoid lioness?) with her favorite, if mundane, lion.
BTW, who's Seshet? The ancient egyptians had so many gods and I haven't stumbled over that one yet. Seshet is a god, or not? Sorry, I'm only a amateur student of history.

Yeah, I thought it was Bast in anthro form walking Sekhemt in her animal form. My bad.
Also, Seshet (Seshat) is : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seshat. She is the Goddess of wisdom, knowledge, and writing (among many other things). She actually predates Toth. She was also the official scribe for the pharaoh.
But, she doesn't have an anthro form, so she doesn't get drawn a lot, at least not here. Thoth tends to be the one most often remembered and credited. Don't get me wrong, I like him too, but it just seems like Seshet loses a lot of earned dues.

Seems to happenb a lot with egyptian gods. Wepawet gets his 'opener of the way' status ursurped by Anubis and is nearly forgotten as a god of war because of Sekhmet. Anubis has to give up being lord of the underworld, because Osiris needs something to do in hs afterlife.
It's not easy being a god.
